ChesMRC Appoints Hispanic Outreach Coordinator

Estela Vianey Ramirez, ChesMRC’s Hispanic Outreach Coordinator

The Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center (ChesMRC) hired Estela Vianey Ramirez as full-time Hispanic Outreach Coordinator. Estela had been supporting the organization in a part-time capacity since 2013, assisting with ESL courses, parent literacy and the Girl Scout program.

As Hispanic Outreach Coordinator, Estela’s role is to assist with implementing a wide range of informational and educational programs for children and adults, including the Afterschool Program, health education, ESL, parent literacy, translation services and immigration legal assistance. In addition to being Girl Scout Leader for Easton Troop #1536, Estela is bilingual in English and Spanish and has certifications in CPR/First Aid, Community Health Work Core Training, Chronic Self Disease Management and Stress Management.

Says Matthew Peters, Director of the ChesMRC, “As a volunteer and part-time employee, Estela has been an integral part of our organization since its inception, and we are thrilled to have her on board full-time. Her knowledge of the Talbot County Hispanic community is unparalleled, and she will be a dynamic force in the continued growth and success of the ChesMRC.”
