ChesMRC celebrated our 2nd annual Thankful to Wellness event held Thursday, November 17th and welcomed over 60 adults and 100 children. Thanks to the Healthy Habits grant funded by Talbot Family Network, ChesMRC was able to provide healthy food and fun, educational activities for everyone that attended.

Several families also donated healthy food dishes including roasted chickens, pasta salads, spinach salads and fresh cranberry chutney ensuring every attendee got a nice hot nutritious meal.

The event also welcomed several health vendors and organizations to add to the festivities. Choice One attended and provided teddy bears, band-aids and information on the new urgent care center in Easton. Talbot County Health Department had a station set up and provided 27 free flu shots to attendees and Choptank Community Health represented with health information on breast cancer awareness and nutrition.

Emily Groll with Eat Sprout provided an excellent demo on how to make  Egg and Veggie Quinoa Muffins with samples (you can click to find the recipe Here) and also provided enough samples for everyone to try. All food and time was 100% donated.

Although Chef Jordan with Bartlett Pear couldn’t attend this year, he provided a wonderful pumpkin soup and Cottingham Farms provided enough greens and vegetables for families to take home with them.
