ChesMRC was honored to be among those selected to receive $2,500.00 in funding from the Ruth and Robert St. John Foundation to assist with funding of our afterschool program.

The funding comes at a critical time as funds for the afterschool program have been decreased by 50% in its fifth year of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant. The afterschool program serves 100 children annually from grades 1 – 5 at Easton Elementary School and runs M-Th from 3:30pm – 6:00pm providing a hot dinner for each child and one hour of academic and one hour of enrichment. These funds will help support costs for materials, transportation for children whose parents have no form of transportation as well as wages to support enrichment leaders.
