Easton, MD – The Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center (ChesMRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Fred Christie, Chief Information Officer of Easton Utilities, to its Board.
Christie brings more than four decades of experience in technology and leadership, along with a strong commitment to community service, to support the organization’s mission of empowering multicultural communities across the region.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Villanova University, a master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on artificial intelligence from Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Loyola University Maryland.
Christie is active in the technology and cybersecurity community, serving on Villanova’s Medallion Advisory Board for Computer Science, contributing to efforts supporting U.S. critical infrastructure, and working with industry committees for public power and gas associations. He has also served on a National Governors Association panel focused on improving communication between state and federal agencies during cyber events.
“We are honored to welcome Fred to our Board,” said Matthew Peters, Executive Director of ChesMRC. “His leadership and experience, particularly in information technology and cybersecurity, will be a strong asset as we continue to expand our programs and serve the region’s diverse communities.”
Christie’s appointment comes as ChesMRC continues to expand its programs and strengthen its leadership to support the Mid-Shore’s increasingly diverse population.
