Grand Opening of ChesMRC’s New Home!

Join us October 11th for the ChesMRC Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Since 2012, the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center has provided services to more than 3,500 immigrants from approximately 50 countries. These immigrants now call the Eastern Shore of Maryland home. Each immigrant has a special story that has led him or her to this new place. ChesMRC is here to listen and advance each new story. Whether immigrants are looking to improve education, work, join or , or searching for a safe place, we provide essential resources to fulfill their dreams.

ChesMRC accomplished a new milestone with the support of our loyal friends and supporters! In response to the high demand for services, ChesMRC purchased our permanent home on 331/333 E. Dover Street, Easton and began operations in August.
Dozens of hands, including those of clients, staff, board members and donors helped us to renovate and prepare our new facilities.  For several days, lawyers turned into painters and elected officials into plumbers! Long hours of volunteer service helped us to create a new space that reflects our character, dreams, and soul.  The interior walls of our building now evoke the light and the warmth of a myriad of countries that many remember as “home”.
To embark in this major adventure, ChesMRC acquired a $465,000 mortgage.  This mature decision is a reflection of our commitment towards our community. ChesMRC is fulfilling a unique mission that supports the dignity of people and contributes to the prosperity of the Eastern Shore.
We are tremendously grateful for the gifts we have received and continue to receive. Your generosity is helping us to honor the financial responsibilities associated with this capital investment.
As anticipated, our new location has proven more effective to reach out to our target audience.  A larger number of services are being provided, while adding to the vibrancy of the East End Neighborhood.
We hope you can join us on October 11th at 9:00 am for the official grand opening of our new location! The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce will kindly offer a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our new beginnings. Thanks for being part of this meaningful moment!
