Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot visited Easton on March 12, 2018 to award Matthew Peters (ChesMRC’s Director) the William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award. The award ceremony was held at the Eastern Shore Conservation Center and welcomed over 50 leaders from the Mid-Shore to the event to share in Matthew receiving the award.
Honorees are selected based on their demonstration to improve the community, to promptly respond respond to a citizen problem through effective government intervention, to directly aid those most vulnerable in society or to establish a public private partnership to improve the lives of fellow Marylanders.
